A practical checklist for comparing official approval, branches, eligibility, location, costs and the published admission process—without rankings or unsupported claims.
1. Verify approval and affiliation
Check the relevant AICTE approval and MSBTE affiliation information for the admission year. Match the institution name and institute code across the official process documents.
RJCOE publishes AICTE and DTE approval, MSBTE affiliation and institute code 4609 on its approvals and affiliations page. Applicants should still verify current-year official records.
2. Choose the engineering field first
Start with the work you want to study: computing, communication systems, mechanical systems, electronics or the built environment. Compare syllabus coverage and progression routes rather than relying on a generic college label.
3. Ask for precise admission information
- First-year and direct second-year eligibility
- Institute code and official application route
- Current fee approval and payment schedule
- Scholarship eligibility and required evidence
- Required documents and category-specific certificates
- Published dates and the authority responsible for them

4. Evaluate the daily commute
Check the campus address, travel route, time and cost from your home. Visit if practical, and ask the college to confirm current transport or access details instead of relying on old third-party listings.

5. Prefer evidence over claims
For laboratories, faculty, internships, industrial visits, projects, placements and campus facilities, prefer current official documents, direct observation and named contacts. Do not treat an unsupported ranking or promotional superlative as evidence.
